Work Experience
Here is a brief history of my current and past employment experiences
University Student Ambassador
January 2018 - Present
As a University Student Ambassador, my job is to promote and market Northwest Missouri State University to prospective students and families. This job requires constant enthusiasm and passion as we lead tours throughout campus for these potential Bearcats. Extensive and in-depth knowledge regarding the programs, departments, and facts of Northwest is crucial to answer on-the-fly questions from touring families. This job has allowed me the opportunity to expand and grow within my communication skills and connecting with a wide array of individuals from all over the country.

Supplemental Instruction Leader
January 2018 - Present
Northwest Missouri State University has implemented a program to aid students in their academic success called Supplemental Instruction. As a Supplemental Instruction Leader, my job is to assist students who are currently enrolled in a challenging general education course. I hold multiple, weekly evening sessions where students in the United States History Since 1877 class can attend to gain a better understanding of lecture material. This job has rewarded me with ample opportunities to develop my communication, planning, and management skills. I have learned many learning styles in which students learn, and have adapted those styles within my lesson plans to incorporate an inclusive learning environment.

Academic and Study Skills Tutor
August 2018 - Present
Employed through the Student Success Center at Northwest Missouri State University, I act as an extra academic support resource for students who are struggling in history classes. Through appointments made by the student, we meet and collaborate on areas of weakness for the student, and form attainable and measurable goals to help them excel in academically in their class. Although my area of strengths is in history content, specifically United States History since 1877, this employment has challenged me to develop unique study skills that can help any student with any subject.
