Public Relations Intern
Summer of 2019
This past summer, I had the opportunity to experience agency life. Working at Look East PR, an agricultural and food-based agency that works to build trust between consumers and clients, taught me so many valuable skills. I wrote blogs for Best Food Facts, worked on 8 different client projects, sat in on business development calls and project meetings, and managed social media accounts.
First white paper
One of my favorite projects during my internship was curating and designing the first white paper for Look East. The 5 Quick Tips for Improving SEO was a fun and intriguing blog to write, and I transformed the written blog into a downloadable white paper off the company's website. Not only did I experience the process of writing, rewriting repeatedly, but I also got to see a project that I created from beginning to end.
Articles for Best Food Facts
As an intern, I was able to expand and improve on my writing skills by developing unique and engaging content for the Center for Food Integrity's consumer-facing platform Best Food Facts. I researched trends in food or health-related topics, found experts to interview, and composed four blogs targeted towards moms, millennials, and foodies. The topics of these articles ranged from addressing the rise of the CBD market to Instant Pots and air fryers.

Worked on client projects
Project DescriptionThis is your Project Description. It’s a great place to describe your Project in more detail. Add images and provide visitors with essential information about your work, including the project length, partnerships or any successful outcomes. To hook new potential clients, show how your work has provided solutions for past clients.

Social Media Intern
Summer of 2018
In the summer of 2018, I worked within the Northwest Missouri State University Department of Communication and Marketing as a social media intern. I managed the various social media accounts for the university, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, and even content for the university's website.
